Overton Community Council Public Consultations

Introduction

Following its own, internal “Blue Sky Thinking” creative workshop last November, Overton Community Council held the first of its “Blue Sky Thinking” / Public consultations on 19th October in the Village Hall.

This was a facilitated workshop to ask residents what improvements they would like to see in the Village (and, by contrast what aspects of their village life they would like to change).  We presented the summary findings from our own workshop and it was remarkable how similar they were.  Rather than detail these here, please feel free to contact the Clerk if you would like more information.

Thoughts on a Trim Trail

During the evening Councillors presented options for a “Trim Trail”, a proposal to install outdoor exercise equipment in a location near to the existing Playing Field. Four options plus the option, “I do not support this initiative” were presented. No one present said they did not agree with it, and, of the four equipment options, Option Three received the most votes, with Option One coming second.

We believe that there is an appetite for this but we’d like to consult a wider sampling of the community before progressing. We’re inviting responses from all Overton residents to give us their thoughts and we can proceed accordingly.

The deadline for responses to this consultation is Friday 10th December 2021 and the results will be published in the New Year.
