Overton Film Club
The Overton Film Club is open to members and the general public alike.
Our Film Club has enjoyed a successful first season 2009-10 and is looking forward to bringing more wonderful movies to Overton Village Hall.
Our aim is
- to bring recent/current releases to Overton without the cost and hassle associated with venturing into town
- to enhance village life, by adding to our wider sense of community.
We use 35mm film reels wherever possible; coupled with the latest sound technology and 15ft. screen, you are in for an enjoyable local night out!
The 6 screenings are held once a month from October to March inclusive and a wide range of genre is covered - family, musical comedy, drama, even foreign film has proved popular.
Village Hall doors open at 7pm with film screening commencing at 8pm sharp.
Refreshments
- Full bar service and a tuck shop
- Why not arrive early to enjoy a hot roast pork bap and a glass of wine before "house lights down.”
- A wide range of movie snacks is also available.
Parking
Large public car park to the rear of the Doctors Surgery
or many patrons walk to the Hall.
Films screened to much acclaim in 2009/2010 included the wonderful hit "An Education", which saw Carey Mulligan earn her first BAFTA Award, as well as "Nowhere Boy" starring Aaron Johnson as the adolescent John Lennon, also very well received by our audience.
Screening details are emailed in advance to all on our distribution list (please note, your email details are retained for Film Club emailing only and are not shared with any other parties). We welcome your suggestions and are keen for any interested folk who may wish to join our committee to come along and say hello.
